“My daughter and I had An absolutely fantastic seal workshop with Richard. My daughter is just starting on her wildlife photography journey, And Richard was fantastic in showing her the settings needed and to encourage her to move away from Auto mode. He also gave guidance on exposure when shooting for highlights. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a workshop with Richard as he is good at sharing his knowledge. He didn’t pick up his camera once to shoot for himself rather encouraged and guided us to get the best shots. Superb!”

“I booked a day at Richmond Park with Richard to learn how to photograph the Red Deer. It was an early start, just as the sun was rising. What a great day it turned out to be. I found Richard very helpful and full of knowledge about the Red Deer. We walked a long way that day but the images that Richard helped me get were wonderful. I would recommend him highly.”

“Rich is an amazing photographer and a great guy as well. Very professional and yet easy to get on with, clear with his advice and thoroughly enjoyed spending time photographing with him. If you want to develop your skills at a photographer and enjoy yourself whilst doing so then look no further than Rich. It also helped that his local knowledge meant that wildlife was present when it needed to be, which obviously is not something that can be guaranteed, but the more you know, the luckier you get! I would highly recommend him.”

“I did a thoroughly enjoyable one day workshop with Richard to photograph Deer in Richmond Park. He was extremely knowledgeable about best places to shoot to get the best pictures possible. Whilst I was soaked to the skin by the end of session I think I got some great shots I am really pleased with. I think whether you are beginner or have a bit more experience Richard provides guidance in an unassuming & supportive way. I also recently contacted him regarding help with Lightroom editing & again he was incredibly responsive & helpful. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough & look forward to doing more workshops with him in the future.”

"I went to one of Richards dipper workshops and all I wanted from the workshop was too see this stunning little bird. After 10 seconds of walking I was greeted with 2 dippers perched on a branch so I was excited to say the least. I completed the day with lots of lovely images that I am so proud of and a book of knowledge to help me with my photography. Enjoyed every minute of it such a great experience and made to feel very comfortable with how friendly Richard is. Great day"

I recently joined Richard for a beaver workshop and it did not disappoint! I met Richard for a 1-2-1 beaver workshop. I was thrilled by the experience. We met late afternoon and Richard showed me the locations where we might see the beavers, taking the time to explain their behaviour and how to approach taking pictures. He then showed me some other locations and hides in the area, which gave me an idea of what other wildlife and birds could be observed if I wanted to return in future. We then returned with fingers crossed for beavers, and were lucky enough to see quite a few. I liked Richard’s passion for wildlife, and that his interest was genuinely on me having an enjoyable evening and coming away with pictures I would be happy with. He didn’t even bring his own camera! Richard’s fieldcraft and dedication to his wildlife photography are really inspiring. Thank you Richard!

I joined Richard recently for one of his beaver workshops and it was fantastic. His knowledge of the beavers and the location, meant that we ended up with three beavers right in front of us. His guidance was exceptional and he even left his camera at home to ensure I had full support. I would highly recommend booking a workshop with Richard.

I attended a workshop run by Richard on the Isle of Mull at the start of May for a week and had an absolutely fantastic time! Richard is a very experienced photographer and was very knowledgeable about our subjects (mostly otters!), meaning that we had encounters with our target species everyday of the trip. He went above and beyond to help everyone in the group achieve images that that they were happy with whilst also keeping the welfare of the animals at the forefront. I couldn't recommend his workshops enough!

This was the second time I booked a workshop with Richard and both experiences were incredible. Richard is great company and extremely helpful. Furthermore he has so much respect for all the wildlife he comes across.

I spent an amazing week on the Isle of Mull with Richard photographing otters and other wildlife. The group size is kept small so Richard can give individuals as much or as little help as they might need whatever their ability as a photographer. His knowledge of wildlife and photography is superb as is his fieldcraft skills. He puts your needs first and will leave his camera at home to make sure he has time for you. I came away with a fantastic portfolio of images and am already looking forward to another trip with Richard.

Richard provided an excellent back to basics photography course that focused on what we needed as a business. He is clearly incredibly knowledgeable and is able to pitch the training for the different levels of photography within the group. The second part of the course was a field workshop, it was a great opportunity to put into practice what we had learnt so far. Richard's approach allowed us to explore all the techniques without pressure and alongside his brilliant sense of humour, he provided a really valuable, fun and enjoyable workshop

Had an amazing time on the Isle of Mull tour. Richard was leading the tour and his lovely wife was making sure that we were all well fed and taken care of, preparing meals, plus coffee and snacks for our breaks while out in the field. We had loads of good sightings and plenty of opportunity for taking images. Richard was giving all his time to make sure we were happy with our images and he was always available for advice - he did NOT carry a camera because he wanted to offer all his attention to the group! He is very knowledgeable and was making sure that wildlife was undisturbed. Even during his free time, he was available for critique and for advice on photo editing. All in all a great experience! I will definitely join him again on his tours and workshops!

Recently I spent a morning with Richard in the Peak District photographing Dippers and had a wonderful morning. Richard knew exactly where to go to find this beautiful bird and he helped me capture some great images. He is a cheerful, has a very positive but relaxed approach and really good company. He does not take his own camera on these sessions but devotes the entire time to assisting his clients. Excellent value and very enjoyable.

I attended a Dipper workshop on the 14th over in Derbyshire with Richard . A very professional service with all details confirmed in advance on email. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and finally got Dipper images i can say i`m proud of. I`ll certainly be repeating the experience on other workshops and would recommend anyone reading this review do the same. It was also great to spend time with a genuine guy who is clearly extremely passionate about wildlife.
